When I meet with families considering three-generation living, I’m always most interested in their inspiration. Have they read a recent article in the paper on multi-generational living or have friends already living it?
We talk about how they think they can support their parents or children, what they can give, where they might appreciate support and the long term picture. If the financial reasons for coming together override the emotional ones, it soon becomes clear that this living arrangement might prove tough. Three-generation living is an emotional commitment even more so than a financial one. And worth every investment. #caringforouragingpopulation #multigenerationalliving #grandparents #grandchildren
